To install Windows Server 2019 Remote Desktop User CAL licenses, follow these steps:
- Log on to the server that has the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager tool installed using an account that has administrative privileges.
- Open the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager tool. You can do this by clicking on the Start menu and typing “Remote Desktop Licensing Manager” in the search bar.
- In the left pane of the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager, click on the server that you want to install the User CALs on.
- In the right pane, click on the “Install CALs” button. This will start the Remote Desktop Licensing Wizard.
- Choose “User CALs” as the type of CALs that you want to install, and then enter the number of CALs that you want to install.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the installation process. You will need to provide the license key for your User CALs during the installation process.
- After you have installed the User CALs, you can use the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration tool to configure the Remote Desktop Session Host server to use the new CALs.
Note that you will need to install a license server and activate it before you can install CALs. Also, each user that accesses the Remote Desktop Session Host server will need a separate User CAL license.
